Job Description Summary The SHCS Communications Designer is responsible for the branding and design of digital and print communications that support and enhance the student experience. Working with units in SHCS, the Designer applies an audience-centered design process to deliver digital, traditional and experiential communications projects that align with unit goals and which support key areas identified in the UBC Student Strategic Plan. This position requires a strong attention to detail, creativity, and the ability to adhere to tight deadlines, and deliver key projects.

We are looking for someone to: • Create compelling, creative, and strategic creative design work • Projects may include campaigns, print products (reports, brochures, publications), branding, and web/digital projects • Work diligently from their home office/remote • Work closely with our team, consisting of a creative director, two account managers, a design director, two copywriters, two designers, a production artist, a developer, and more • Able to execute excellent creative solutions with accuracy and attention to detail • Review final files for errors and suggesting improvements, when necessary, before printing or publishing them • Welcome and implement all client changes • Bring integrity, honesty, collaboration, and enthusiasm to our team • Effectively communicate with team members through Slack, email, Zoom, and phone. • Ability to work independently, in close collaboration with our account team and creative director, primarily through Slack and Asana
