This position manages the branding, communication, output and quality of all global marketing collateral including product launches, promotions, tradeshow graphics, datasheets, flyers, posters, tradeshow booth designs. This individual improves market positioning through creative talent, communication skill, technical product knowledge and industry knowledge.
- Building constructive relationships with internal and external staff which foster productivity, integrative solutions and initiative
- Overseeing the creative design group’s output and contribution to value for customers
- Accountable to ensure appropriate workflow for design team, to monitor for issues and to intercept with appropriate issue resolution
- Establishing training/development plans, performance goals and conducting performance evaluations for design team staff
- Conceptual development and execution of marketing programs considering market position, market conditions and competitor data
- Ensuring visual and written messaging of marketing materials that is effective for the need, maintains an alignment with corporate message and marketing strategy
- Contributing to the global marketing strategy development and related planning, in conjunction with other marketing leaders, product management and the marketing director
- Ensuring design team understanding and maintain adherence to corporate policies
- Responsible for the operating procedures for marketing and design projects
- Together with other marketing leaders, responsible to compile, report and to assist in analyzing return on investment (ROI) for marketing programs
- Executing product launches in coordination with other departments and overseeing design concepts, messaging and production within launch materials
- Coordinating with Advertising and Tradeshow Lead to determine magazine bookings and advertising campaign schedule
- Coordinating with other marketing team members on all projects
- Ensuring that the materials produced are accurate and that quality is maintained, or elevated from existing standards
- Accountable for related vendor/internal resource costs in accordance with the marketing budget
- Compiling budget forecasting for related areas of expertise
- Involvement with voice of the customer practices to ensure the direction and focus of marketing efforts is both effective and appropriate; includes awareness market trends, current market position and perceptions and how to achieve the desired perception within markets
- Organizing promotions
Education:
4 years of post secondary education
Must have the ability to grasp scientific concepts quickly; a relevant science background is an asset
Experience (number of years; industry; positions):
4 years of graphic design in industry with evidence of expansion in ability and responsibility
Demonstrated experience with various types of creative work and media
Demonstrated ability to lead a team from conceptual development through logistical execution
Specialized Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Able to coach and guide junior team members in a professional manner that develops individual potential and business understanding
Solid understanding of design principles
