Overture! Curtains, Lights!
2008-02-20
Greetings and salutations, to our neat, tidy and brand-spanking new corner of the online world.

The GDC Manitoba chapter executive would like to welcome all visitors to the GDC's newly redesigned website. The chapter would also like to take this moment to congratulate Winnipeg's own Tétro Design – who took on the assignment of redesigning the new GDC site – on a remarkable, clean and visually-smart job. Kudos!

And once again, welcome. Please check back often as the chapter homepage takes form and more insight and information is added.

You must be proud - it's a huge task and honour to do this job. Kind of risky as well. There are a million ways to skin a cat they say. Well, designing a site for a bunch of designers all with their own ideas is like you need to herd the cats before you can skin 'em. Anyway, I'm curious what other Manitoba members have to say about the site, and if it will encourage them to be more actively involved with online media for the GDC. What else is going on there - is there a lot of interactive work happening?

I'm from Manitoba and I'm damn proud to see this calibre of interactive design coming from our friends at Tétro. Congratulations.

And Rod is a humble guy and didn't mention how difficult is has been doing the back end development with his team at SmallBox, and their job is far from over yet.

Thanks to you all for your hard work in making us look like the world-class design association we know we are.

Hi. Strange question for you. We have our office in Ashern, Manitoba. We are a non profit corporation doing community development. Often our community organizations need help with marketing their events (real small time stuff) and we try to help with brochures, ads, etc. My staff would like to take training at an introductory level. Do you know of any training offered in Manitoba that might help us. I know in our primary business which is commercial lending, we get regular mailing about training offered in the city, but we are not in the Graphic loop. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Henry.
